PH & Louis Poulsen partnership began in 1925-26, designs for Paris exhibition. Glare-free, direct lighting and soft shadows with incandescent bulbs. 3/2 Academy one of 30 lights, 3 outdoor. Thousands of unique variants, colors & sizes (metal/glass). Logarithmic spiral ensures even light distribution, glass diffuses light to reduce glare & shadows. Each shade reduces light equally, hence model numbers. 3/2 Academy 30cm top shades, 2/2 lower shades for lower hanging. Released in 2000.
- The fixture is designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs the majority of the light downwards. The shades are made of mouth-blown opal three-layer glass, which is glossy on top and sandblasted matt on the underside, giving a soft and uniform light distribution.
